Lime & Berry Smoothie

December 7, 2015 Kristen DeAngelis

Sometimes I need a ZING to help start my day.  Something different than my typical almond milk, spinach berry smoothie.  Lime is rich in Vitamin C and they help to balance the pH of your body to make you more in an alkaline state.  Cucumber is rich in water content and helps to act as a diuretic.  Walnuts is a rich source of Zinc, Folate, Omega 3 Fatty Acids and help with brain development, cognition, memory and mental clarity.  The Avocado is another healthy fat that helps to balance out our hormones, while making our smoothie nice and creamy. The berries as you know are one of the highest sources of antioxidants like the blue pigments of anthocyanin in blueberries.  I love adding raw honey to my smoothies, because it helps with seasonal allergies.
