One of the major reasons I love juicing is because it allows you to get in an abundance of a VARIETY of produce into your diet, that you wouldn't normally get... cabbage? broccoli? cauliflower? Yup - you can juice them all! The sky is the limit (except don't try avocadoes or bananas, those are the two I would not recommend juicing). So start getting creative, don't fear putting a cabbage head through your juicer.... I did and it came out fabulous and want to share the recipe!!
Why cabbage? It's rich in nutrients that support liver detoxification and is specifically known for its glucosinolates, which have shown to have unique cancer prevention properties. Also an excellent source of Vitamin K, C and a good source of B6 and Manganese, this a valuable phytonutrient rich vegetable to include in the diet.
Have no fear, you've got a delicious cabbage juice recipe here!
- 1/2 head cabbage
- 2 Carrots
- 4 Pears
- 1 head Romaine Lettuce
- Optional to add 1" Ginger Root
Wash all ingredients. Push through your juicer at medium-high speed. Serve over ice or store in a mason jar and keep in the fridge for 24-48 hrs. Serves 24-32 oz.
